On May 20, 2022, Mr Lokesh Maharaj, CEO of Radio and TV Jaagriti passed away surrounded by his loved ones in medical care at Medical Associates.

Mr Maharaj was the son of acting Secretary-General of the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha Vijay Maharaj and the grandson of the late Satnarayan Maharaj.

Before taking the helm of the Jaagriti media house, he was a teacher at Vishnu Boys Hindu College.

On May 23, the Inter Religious Organisation of Trinidad and Tobago sending condolences and noting that, “Mr Lokesh Maharaj was a well-known member of the media fraternity and me made a tremendous contribution in this regard, while at the same time leaving behind an indelible legacy.”

Mr Maharaj notably hosted the popular opinion and talk segment on Jaagriti, Straight Talk.
